1.      Revelation 1:4 John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from Him who is and was and is to come, and from the sevenfold Spirit before His throne

2.      Revelation 3:1 To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of the One who has the sevenfold Spirit of God and the seven stars.

• Revelation 1:20 (The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches) therefore they are not the angels or ministering spirits to seven churches because they are identified as separate.

3.      Revelation 4:5 Before the throne burned seven torches of fire. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God.

John 15:26 When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father — the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father — He will testify about Me.

Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. 27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" 

In my opinion the Seven Spirits or the Sevenfold Spirit of God in Revelation is not directly referenced in Isaiah 11 where there is one “Spirit of the LORD” containing six or three sets of two ministries of the Spirit.

Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him,

            The spirit of wisdom and understanding,

            The spirit of counsel and strength,

            The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

I think Isaiah and Revelation are both speaking of the Holy Spirit in the last days but the six and seven don’t line up directly. And I do not think there is a list of only seven that describes the Holy Spirits ministry or attributes.

Does Sevenfold symbolize perfection or completeness?

Sevens in order of appearance

1.      Seven churches 1:4

2.      Seven Spirits 1:4

3.      Seven lampstands 1:12 which are the seven churches1:20

4.      Seven stars 1:16 which are the seven angels of the seven churches1:20

5.      Seven angels 1:20

6.      Seven torches 4:5 which is the Sevenfold Spirit of God 4:5

7.      Seven seals 5:1

8.      Seven horns 5:6 which represent the Sevenfold Spirit of God 5:6

9.      Seven eyes 5:6 which represent the Sevenfold Spirit of God 5:6

10.   Seven angels with Seven trumpets 8:6

11.   Seven trumpets 8:6

12.   Seven thunders 10:1

13.   seven heads 12:3 on the huge red dragon (the dragon, the ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan)20:1

14.   seven royal crowns on his heads 12:3

15.   seven heads 13:1 on the beast

16.   seven angels with the seven final plagues 15:1 and 15:6 and 15:8

17.   seven final plagues 15:1 and 15:6 and 15:8

20.   seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits 17:9

22.   seven kings 17:9 17:11

We also know there are seven letters and seven years although they are not specifically mentioned with the number seven. What do these sevens mean?

Here is a list of seven from Revelation -- The Sevenfold Spirit of God

1.      sends grace and peace 1:4

2.      is before the throne 1:4

3.      is owned by Christ or God the Son 3:1

4.      sent out to all the earth 5:6 by God the Father John 14:26

5.      seven torches 4:5 – light

6.      seven horns 5:6 – power

7.      seven eyes 5:6 – understanding

Still not clear why it is Sevenfold but I still think it is prophetic rather than symbolic. Still studying.
